I struggled with this one, truly I did.
Maybe I am just past LMR writing and characters. Since I have read this story before.
An extremely accomplished ( be that in design, art, IT geeky stuff, music, food etc) very refined and delicate, beautiful woman, in some sort of peril.
A hero who is ex military, now part of a security group, bit rough and ready, possibly some sort of tragic back story, and should be thanking their lucky stars these oh so refined women apparently orgasm at the merest flutter of a butterfly’s wings given the wham bam thank you M’am sex that seems to be all the hero is able to manage. But they are just soooooooooooooo passionate you see.
Anyway, the security guys promise to save the day, usually something goes wrong, but they manage to just pull it off.
I wish here we had had more form when Joe was helping out Isabel, built up the actual romance side of it more. And previously I Have liked how LMR gives us the baddies POV, but in the more recent books in this series, it has taken too much time away from the romance aspect of it, so it feel like, they meet, insta lust, then RELATIONSHIP. It feels like the suspense part of it, is bulked out and we get more POV form the baddie than we should to try and distract us from that fact the hero and heroine are just carbon copies of the couples from previous books in the series. And the writing is repetitive. The same things repeated again and again, as if I would have forgotten.
Argh, I do not know, I have been a fan of LMR for awhile, but maybe I am done? Burnt out. Only so many times you can read the same basic plot with a few details changed, before you burn out.
