★Review★
I am really enjoying reading a book series that has a close group of friends who are male and are there for each other.
And overall – I enjoyed this book, mainly down to the hero and his group of friends.
However the victim blaming heroine quite frankly could bugger off – she constantly blamed the victims for being victims – for wanting to put it behind them – for not being like she was and she would never let herself be a victim as you know – she was apparently just better all round at being a woman.
Not to mention her Nancy Drew antics which were meant to be all light-hearted and what not – but was all about HER and being the hero and saving the day against a pretty despicable human being. It was like the author jumped on the metoo bandwagon but then treated it like a jolly hockey sticks caper!
Plus – she had the hero so terrified to tell her something, that he had not let her know to start with – as quite frankly she had no right to know it when they were just getting to know each other – because she hated liars so much – and she then proved him right that he should have been terrified to tell her!
Anyway, at the end of the day the heroine is proved right, since she wins, and her victim friend apologises to her – and the hero who was a victim in a different way apologises for keeping secret a past she had no right to demand to know
3 stars for hero and the book club – no start for annoying heroine.
