★Review★

Having previously read Hyde and Seek by this author and really enjoying it, I was looking forward to starting this one.

And I have to say, it was so different from what I was expecting! The author has really found her voice for me.

The hero was mysterious and handsome yet so in love with the heroine. And the revelation about just who he was, thankfully did not come out of left field as there had been enough hints throughout the story that it fit, as opposed to feeling very out of place.

I liked Dahlia as a heroine, she was hard working and determined to make a better life for herself, and I like that she truly struggled with just who Theo was once she found out.

Why not quite 5 stars, it felt like for me, it just went on a touch to long. And there were a couple of times I was thinking “well that is just stupid, no way would that happen” only for it to become clear after a couple of pages that it was a dream Dahlia was having. It just was a bit jarring the times it happened, as there was no sign that it was a “dream” and not just the plot.

All in though, an enjoyable 4 stars, full of romance and tension, secrets, love and drama. I would re read it again happily.
