★Review★

I have had this author and a fair few of her series’ on my want to read shelf for ages.

Rather liked the look of this one so eventually bought it.

Unfortunately it was not good for me.

I could not warm to the heroine at all! Her reaction to going through some magical portal was just ridiculous. (and yes it is a book about aliens and other dimensions etc, it is going to verge on the ridiculous) but really, going around shaking hands with everyone, taking photos of the space ship as her dad would be so jealous! ugh. She was just generally a bit too try hard perky and kooky a character to be anything other than annoying in all reality. And she kept chuckling………silently……to herself……

And given her rather unconventional upbringing, where all things sex related were not hidden away or seen as something to be embarrassed about, I refuse to believe that she would be a virgin, and even if she was a virgin have NEVER EVER had an orgasm! But manages to turn into a sex maniac temptress within pages. And for some reason described oral sex to a bunch of strangers. And despite being a previously completely inexperienced virgin, is bringing forth the sexual revolution to a planet where they have apparently never manged to work out sex just might be fun!

And the writing…..how many POV’s do we need in a book. And it was not always clear that we have a POV change. Occasionally within a page you would have multiple POV with no clear distinction made between any of them. And then we would have the case where we would get a scene in Tinks POV, then we move to the hero, and spend a few sentences confused till you realise you have actually jumped back in time to get his POV for what he was doing coming up to the very same scene we have just read about. Made for a confusing disjointed read.

Repetitive description used constantly, often within the same sentence.

A rather disappointing 1 star for me.
