★Review★

So I was offered this as a R2R by the author a couple of weeks ago.

Now considering it has been out since January according to GR, I expect that I have the finished product. Yet, there were some issues, it would change from 1st person POV to third person POV in the same sentence. Examples – “Kenda knew that from the research I’d done before..” or “they made our way over to the large rocks”. And there were continuity errors, for example, one point the band members are helping a 5 year old, then she was a teenager about 15 a few pages later. Little things I would not expect in the finished product. I will say, these seem to settle after the 4o% mark or so, or at least I stopped noticing it.

And I struggled to like the heroine to start. She came across a bit superior in her attitude to musicians, well, male musicians, which was a bit daft considering her job, tarring them all with the same brush, just because she had an ex who had cheated on her, or she was derisive of their fans who wanted to know “stupid” details etc. But I actually warmed up to her toward the end.

And the hero, I liked him, I really did, but he was just TOO nice! Which seems like an odd complaint, but it was like he was made almost perfect so she would like him as he kept proving he was the opposite of her ex. But I felt like he had to be written that damn nice, as the heroine was so bitter about her ex and musicians.

However, I did get into it and actually enjoyed it. I would for myself, consider it more of a HFN, as we really only get to experience the very start of their relationship and things are far from settled (maybe I am spoiled from books with epilogues) but I actually did not mind, it left on a happy note, and this is a series, I assume the rest of the band will get books, so Kenda and Greyson will appear heavily in those books and we get updates on them and their relationship anyway.

Overall, I enjoyed it and would read more of the series happily, so would rate it a 3, possibly a 3.5, but it did have some editing issues, and the main characters were for me a touch one dimensional, and it took me about 20-30% to properly get into it.
