Again, I have to reiterate how much I dislike the “serial” novella trend lately. I usually avoid them like the plague. But I picked up the first part, since how could I not, with that title, and really enjoyed it, so grabbed the second bit when it came up on Netgalley, as again, how could I not?
In the second instalment, certain things are made clear. Quickly giving us answers to what we were left wondering about after Cole was arrested at the end of part one.
This one packed more of an emotional punch, and oddly, most of that came from Cole. He is the one changing the most here. Hailey, understandably holding back, but Cole, seeming to be more sure of his feelings, or at least more sure of his inability to let Hailey go, and deciding he wants her in his life and will keep her.
Relationship wise, things are smoother, yes there are still secrets that WILL come out, but settling to almost normal. The drama seems to be coming from outside forces, and again, it ends on a huge cliffhanger.
Am very interested to see how it ends.
