“I have breast cancer. Not in both though.” She pointed to her right breast and said, “This one is still awesome, it’s this one that’s gone off the reservation. But I’m telling you, the one that’s good is still very nice.”
This was a bit different than my normal read. A bit lighter on the romance than I normally read (although there is still a love story to be had here)
But, I LOVED it.
I loved Alice, in fact adored her. She is a great character. As I say, there is romance in here, and I liked Anthony too as a character, and was pleased how the story went there. It is very much a slow build up on the romance side of things.
But this is all about Alice and her quirks and personality and how she battles something awful. She is not good in social situations, has a mild from of Asperger’s and tends to be blunt and honest to a fault.
Given the subject manner, the book is not a heavy angsty read. It is quirky and funny and has you rooting for Alice.
A great 5 stars.
