Cameron Price has moved to Seattle, to be able to prove he has what it takes to be CEO when his boss retires.
Lauren Brody runs a catering company, determined to be her own woman.
Neither of them have time or the inclination for a relationship.
Cameron’s boss and wife seem to think he needs a wife, to help him in his position in the Seattle office! Cameron sees no need for this.
In his nervousness and panic at his first meet and greet party for the new office, he allows his boss and wife assume he has been seeing Lauren for awhile.
Lauren agrees to go along with this, to raise the profile of her catering company, and hopefully spend some personal time with Cameron.
At first, I was unsure about Cameron, he seemed a touch too stiff and buttoned up and at the beginning, oddly nervous and unsure of himself. An odd mix of nervousness and confidence!
But, as the book went on, I found myself falling in love with him, he was a mix of endearing vulnerability and sexiness!
There was something rather sweet about these two. They have both been hurt in the past, and think they do not want or have time for a “proper” relationship, yet almost unwillingly find themselves in one!
Watching them slowly open up to each other, and come to trust each other was lovely.
There was a couple of misunderstanding, nothing huge and overly dramatic however, and it was resolved within a short time, and neither was afraid to properly apologise either!
A hugely enjoyable read. It is a different read to a lot of what is around today! No Billionaire with a penchant for kink! No “Alpha” man who railroads the h into a relationship, after having spent years massively sowing his wild oats with any woman he can get his hands on!
Just a story about two people, with their own issues and vulnerabilities, learning to know each other and falling in love!
